Announcement 1: The Preseason Kick-Off on May 5 also corresponds with Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby. In honor of both events, we are rewarding players/teams who dress up with either theme. If you do dress up (even if one partner is dressed up and the other isn’t) your team is rewarded by not having to either: 1) chug half a beer, or 2) take a shot of fireball before each round-robin match (each team will play 8 round-robin games). However, if both members of a team DO NOT dress up in one of the themes, both players have to either chug half a beer or take a shot of fireball before every round-robin game as penalty for not embracing the moment. “Dressing up” can be as simple as one garment aligned with either theme, or one can choose to be head-to-toe in Mexican Kentucky Derby attire.

Announcement 2: Dan Ranville is coordinating a pretty awesome silent auction style betting format for the Kentucky Derby. Everyone is welcome to participate, but please be sure to bring enough cash. If you don’t care to participate, that’s also fine. More details to be shared the day of the tournament.
