2026 Week 15 Recap

MACOMB TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN – Craig’s first time hosting a LEG event had all the ingredients for an incredible evening. He has a beautiful house at the dead end of a cul-de-sac, giving us the opportunity to channel our inner children by setting up boards in the street, lowering the truck tailgates for seating between games, and turning the music up just a little louder than usual.

With an endless view of what appeared to be a weed farm (or perhaps a boxwood farm) and a beautiful sunset in the background, it was immediately obvious why Craig loves living here—and why several members quickly moved his house toward the top of the LEG venue rankings.

Unfortunately, the night wasn’t exactly filled with unicorns and rainbows.

In fact, KP’s commute to Macomb proved to be a fitting precursor for what was about to unfold for the entire group.

As KP cruised down 23 Mile Road, smiling to himself about successfully dodging rush-hour traffic, his truck began to sputter.

He glanced at the dashboard and immediately knew what was happening. He had pushed the gas tank a little too far, choosing to ignore the “50 miles to empty” warning he had received approximately 50 miles earlier.

A quick glance down the road revealed a gas station about a quarter-mile away at the Dequindre Road intersection. Unfortunately, his truck wasn’t making it that far.

Instead, KP quickly veered right into a community park, using the last remaining fumes in the tank to coast into the entrance.

As he sat in his truck submitting a AAA claim on his phone, he heard a voice outside his window.

“Are you okay?”

KP looked up to find a Macomb County Sheriff standing beside his truck.

“I ran out of gas and I’m trying to submit a AAA claim.”

“Do you want me to take you to a gas station?” the officer asked.

“Can you do that?” KP replied.

“Yeah, no problem.”

So KP secured his truck and sheepishly asked, “Do you want me in the back or up front?”

Silly rabbit.

You aren’t riding up front in a fucking patrol car. Especially when your dumbass just ran out of gas. Get in the back, chump.

KP climbed into the back of the patrol car, which doubled as a mobile hot box that had clearly seen its fair share of bodily-fluid-related incidents.

Just a quarter-mile later, KP was purchasing a two-gallon gas can and $10 worth of gasoline.

Relieved but still thoroughly embarrassed, he climbed back into the rear of the patrol car for the return trip to his truck. Once there, he thanked the officer for his service, poured the gas into his tank, and hurried along to Craig’s house.

It was only a minor delay, but one filled with enough drama to make KP wonder if perhaps the universe was trying to tell him something.

It was.

Only five of the 13 players threw better tonight than their season averages. One of those five was Craig, who apparently benefited from a little good old-fashioned home cooking.

Below is a table of the individual results.

Despite the collective struggles, Week 15 was loaded with fun and competitive games. Eleven of the 21 matches were decided by seven points or fewer, making the selection of Game of the Week particularly difficult.

Let’s get into it.

GAME OF THE WEEK

We jump to the evening finale for arguably the best game of the night, featuring close friends Brent and Craig against the father-son duo of Flowers and Jake.

The game was tight through the early stages, with Brent and Craig clinging to a narrow 8-6 lead through six rounds.

For a game in which points were initially so difficult to come by, things were about to get very explosive, very quickly.

Flowers erupted for four points in the seventh round, beating Brent 7-3. Jake followed with a six-point round of his own in the eighth, outscoring Craig 10-4.

The father-son duo quickly ripped off 10 unanswered points and transformed a 6-8 deficit into a commanding 16-8 lead.

But Brent and Craig weren’t going away quietly.

The friends answered with four points apiece, tying the game at 16-16 and completely erasing the 10-point swing.

Once the scoreboard hits 16 points, every round becomes dangerous. One round can end the game, meaning every bag carries significantly more weight.

The next phase of this one turned into a street fight.

With the game tied at 16, it took another five rounds to finally determine a winner, with both teams scratching and clawing for every available point.

Flowers and Jake managed to climb back ahead, 19-16.

Craig responded with a clutch 8-6 round over Jake, trimming the deficit to 19-18 and keeping the game alive.

That momentum carried over to Brent in the next round.

He drilled cornholes with his first three throws, putting enormous pressure on Flowers to keep pace. When Flowers’ third bag sailed off the board and landed in the street, the Fat Lady began singing.

Brent boarded his final bag for a 10-4 lead, leaving Flowers with only one option: throw a miracle push shot to limit the damage to 10-9 and extend the game.

Flowers’ final attempt missed, giving Brent and Craig the 21-18 victory and the host a fitting way to cap his first LEG event.

Craig finished the night 3-4, which was oh-so-close to a spectacular 6-1 record. His three losses came by scores of 21-15, 21-16 and 21-18.

We won’t talk about the 21-0 loss.

I’m convinced that one was intentional – a calculated attempt to break the bun-run ice with his fiancée, who periodically checked in to watch with the enthusiasm of a Secretary of State employee.

MUSHROOM STAMP MOMENT

Game 19 looked like it was going to be a routine victory for Joe and Mike V.

They built a commanding 20-10 lead over KP and Flowers, and at that point, the only remaining question appeared to be how quickly they could finish the job.

Mike V. effectively neutralized Flowers during the first 12 rounds.

At the other end of the boards, Joe was doing considerably more than neutralizing KP, who looked as though he was running on fewer fumes than his truck.

Joe was beating the living shit out of him.

Joe scored 17 of his team’s 20 points during that stretch, averaging 8.7 points per round while holding KP to just 6.3.

Joe and Mike V. had a stranglehold on this match, but KP finally managed to punch back with a 10-6 advantage in the 13th round, trimming the deficit to 20-14.

The teams proceeded to wash three consecutive rounds, leaving Joe and Mike V. sitting comfortably at 20 points while KP and Flowers desperately searched for a way back into a game they had no business winning.

Then Flowers found one.

Mike V. struggled to a one-point round while Flowers caught fire, drilling three cornholes for a massive 9-1 advantage.

Eight points.

KP and Flowers had somehow erased a 20-10 deficit and completed one of the most improbable comebacks of the season, stealing a 21-20 victory from Joe and Mike V.

For Joe and Mike V., it was a choke of magnificent proportions.

For Flowers, it was a Mushroom Stamp Moment.

The 9-1 winning round didn’t just clinch the game – it completed an absurd comeback that, just a few rounds earlier, looked impossible.
