Tony is affectionately called “Gramps” by his closest friends (i.e., Bushie) because he’s one of the laziest guys you’ll ever meet. Really. He needs a camping chair near him at all times because when he’s not throwing, he needs to sit down and rest.

Tony has limited regular season appearances with only 13 matches (7-6 overall record) and 0 matches in 2016 and 2017, respectively. He regularly blames his lack of participation on his kids’ soccer games, but we all know the truth…he needs to have dinner and be in bed by 8 pm after watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. That strict “Gramps” schedule makes Thursday night cornhole participation tough.

Despite his lack of participation, Tony is always one of the top competitors. We think he works his craft by playing in a midday league at the nearest senior citizen center. Somehow, he’s always on top of his game as evidenced in the 2017 Postseason Championship, his first-ever LEG tournament.

Tony teamed with Jeff Valantas on “Sausage Factory” to make a run all the way to the semifinals as the #4 seed before ultimately losing to #1 seed “Jesse and the Rippers”. He was in the zone all tournament, reminiscent of his time lighting it up on the 7th grade B-Team playing for the Troy Raiders (pic above). Tony helped carry “Sausage Factory” to the cusp of the championship match, but couldn’t beat “Jesse and the Rippers” for a third time in the tournament.

Tony is one of several players who have a legitimate shot at LEG glory. The 2018 Preseason Kick-Off and Postseason Tournament will be as competitive as ever, and Tony is a heavy preseason favorite to have his name added to The Cup.
